Benefits of Probiotics: Feel Good, Prevent UTIs, Regulate Your Mood and Weight

Many people are quick to tell you that taking raw probiotics is a good idea, especially for women

It’s a little hard to decide whether trying probiotics—raw or otherwise—is a good idea without a bit more information. What are probiotics and their benefits? And why are they so important? We’ll answer those questions for you in this article.

What are probiotics?

Probiotics are a type of live microorganism. Most probiotics are some form of bacteria, though some probiotics are actually a type of yeast.

That sounds scarier than it really is. Probiotics are good bacteria—in fact, they already live in and help regulate your body. Without a certain amount of good bacteria in you, there’s a risk that your health could be negatively impacted.

Probiotics naturally live in some of the foods we eat, including yogurt, cottage cheese, and sourdough bread. Fermented foods, such as fermented pickles or fermented sauerkraut, are likely to contain probiotics.

Raw probiotics are a particular type of probiotics that are made with a whole food formula. They are designed to replicate the benefits of consuming probiotics via fermented foods. The “raw” in raw probiotics isn’t literal; it simply means that the probiotics are untreated, uncooked, and unadulterated. There are no fillers or binders. Carriers like dextrose (a simple sugar made out of corn) and maltodextrin (a plant-based powder, frequently also made from corn) also aren’t in raw probiotics.

The benefits of raw probiotics on women are varied, though they tend to have the most positive impact on the stomach. Raw probiotics aid in maintaining a healthy microbial balance through encouragement of the healthy bacteria in your stomach. They also assist with your immune system’s overall health, particularly its performance regarding stomach health.

Raw probiotics can also help with other health-related concerns. Taking raw probiotics can improve the absorption of healthy nutrients, assist in continuing thyroid health, and encourage vaginal health. Raw probiotics can also improve the functioning of the digestive system and support colon health and bowel regularity.

What do you Need to Know Before Trying Probiotics?

This may seem a bit obvious, but it should still be said: follow the instructions on the bottle. If you don’t, you might not get the full effect you want. Many types of probiotics need to be stored at a cooler temperature. If the raw probiotics are exposed to heat for too long, it could kill them.

The other thing you will need to be aware of is that probiotics of any sort don’t stay in your body indefinitely. As a result, if you swallow raw probiotics, they will only have a temporary effect. This means you’ll have to take them either daily or nearly daily if you want to see much of a benefit for your health.

Bottom line:

Raw probiotics are a naturally occurring method for women to receive a variety of health benefits, though they must be taken frequently to have an impact. You can heighten the effects further by consuming probiotic-rich foods. Raw probiotics are an easy way to improve your health and—hopefully—your quality of life.

  1. I like that you talked about how there’s a risk that your health could be negatively impacted without a certain amount of good bacteria in you. My wife is quite health conscious and she is thinking of taking some supplements. I heard women’s health probiotic is pretty good so I should probably suggest that to her too.
